What is Senergy and how does it work?+
Senergy is a Nigerian energy company that provides procurements services for off-grid energy. Our services are deisgned to use your needs to source fair energy quotes from our providers. You compare clear pricing, choose an option, and wait for fulfilment
What is off-grid energy? Is this the same as solar?+
Off-grid (or hybrid) means your essential power does not depend solely on the national grid. You generate and store energy locally (often solar + batteries + inverter). Solar is one generation technology, but off-grid systems may combine solar, battery storage, and sometimes backup diesel for resilience.
How do you vet your solar providers?+
Each provider is screened for: (1) licensing & certifications, (2) years of successful installs, (3) workmanship quality (sample site audits), (4) warranty & after-sales responsiveness, (5) component sourcing standards, and (6) customer references. Providers are re-reviewed periodically.
How much does a solar system cost in Nigeria?+
Indicative ranges (₦, hardware + labour): Small backup (lights, devices) ₦800k–₦1.8m; Medium home (lights, fans, fridge, 1–2 ACs) ₦3m–₆m; Larger high-use (multiple ACs, pumps) ₦8m–₁5m+. Final cost depends on battery chemistry, panel efficiency, inverter class, and roof complexity.
How does Senergy determine the price it gives me for my energy need+
We estimate daily kWh usage using your described loads, apply irradiance & performance ratios, size PV + battery to meet autonomy hours, then normalise provider component & labour quotes. Financing options apply margin for payment plan cost. The displayed price is always provider-submitted—not invented.
Can I get a loan or payment plan for my solar system?+
Yes. Many providers offer 6–12 month instalment plans (deposit + fixed monthly). Longer tenors or asset-backed loans may be available through partner financiers. Eligibility considers income stability, credit history, and sometimes collateral.
What is the return on investment (ROI) for a solar system?+
Payback comes from reduced diesel fuel, lower generator maintenance, and avoided higher grid tariffs. Typical residential payback: ~3–5 years for diesel-heavy homes; estates or businesses with longer daily generator hours can see ~2.5–4 years. After payback, most ongoing costs are cleaning & minor parts.
How do I know what size of solar system I need?+
Sizing considers: (1) average daily kWh, (2) peak simultaneous load (inverter capacity), (3) desired autonomy hours (battery size), (4) roof usable area, and (5) future growth (EV, new ACs). Our calculator and provider load audit refine this before final quote.
Do I need batteries with my solar panels?+
Not strictly—daytime-only loads can run on solar + grid. Batteries provide night continuity, outage coverage, and smoother load handling. If grid is unreliable or you run critical equipment, batteries markedly improve resilience.
How long does the solar installation process take?+
After quote acceptance & deposit: typical home systems 2–5 days (site prep, mounting, wiring, commissioning). Larger estates or commercial setups can span 1–3 weeks depending on structural work and battery bank scale.
What happens if something goes wrong with my system after installation?+
You contact the provider’s support channel. Standard warranties: Panels 20–25 yrs output, Inverters 2–5 yrs, Batteries 3–10 yrs (chemistry dependent). Senergy’s records help verify install details and guide troubleshooting or escalation.
What is Energy as A Service?+
Energy as a Service (EaaS) is a subscription model: you pay a predictable periodic fee for delivered energy performance rather than owning the system outright. The provider designs, funds, installs, maintains, and optimises the system.
Am I better off with Energy as A service or outright purchase?+
Outright purchase: higher upfront spend, lower long-term total cost, full asset control. EaaS: minimal upfront, predictable OPEX, provider handles maintenance & upgrades. If capital constraints or operational simplicity matter, EaaS fits; if long-term savings & asset value matter, ownership wins.
